“I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing
praise to my God while I have being.” Psalm 104:33
It
has been said that hymnody is like a folk tradition. Its heritage must
be recreated, loved, and passed on from generation to generation through
“participation”. Our Sanctuary Choir invites YOU to PARTICIPATE, to
GROW, to MINISTER, to SHARE, to find personal SPIRITUAL NOURISHMENT and
to SERVE GOD with YOUR talent!
Perhaps now is the time to use your talents in the service of the
church. If you enjoy singing with a wonderful group of people, we can
promise you good FUN, FELLOWSHIP (sometimes even FOOD) and always the
pleasure and blessing of serving your church in a very direct way.
Rehearsals are held in the choir room (behind the
sanctuary) and start at 7:30 P.M. and finish before 9:00 P.M. Please
come if you enjoy singing. You don’t have to know everything about
reading music to sing in the choir; but you might be amazed as to how
much you end up learning along the way. If you can serve your church in
this way, PLEASE COME and join us. There are many, many reasons why YOU
need to be among our number!
“Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song, sing his praise in the assembly
of the faithful.” Psalm 149:1
**CPC Adult Handbell Choir- We are very fortunate to have a great group
of “Ringers” in our Handbell Choir. We are presently looking for 1 or 2
“ringers” to serve as substitutes at Thursday rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. and
occasionally for a Sunday morning service.
**CPC Young Women’s Ensemble – Our Young Women’s Ensemble rehearses on
Sunday mornings, immediately after the early Worship Service, at 9:20 in
the choir room. We usually try to sing once a month, and hopefully even
more frequently this year.
**Children’s Choir – The last few years, there has not been enough
interest shown to support a children’s choir at CPC. If enough interest
is shown, this is something we would again like to begin.
For
questions or for more information on any of the “Music Ministries” of
the church, please call Lou Ann at 576-9764, email her at louapotter@comcast.net
or speak to any of our CPC “Music Ministers” at the church. We hope to
“hear” from you soon!
