Fun...Event and Outreach

Team Leader – Suzanne Quigley

The focus of this initiative is more events oriented such as classes that teach people how to do things (such as hand made cards, knitting, etc.), silent auctions, flamingo ransoming, etc.  While fundraising is a part of this initiative, outreach to the community will play a larger role in these events.  The more people who share their time and talents the more effective the results will be.

Thank you to all who participated in the Friendly's Fundraiser on October 19, 2011. A portion of all the meals served that evening will be credited to Christ Presbyterian Church for the Time and Talent Benevolence Fund. What a great way to enjoy a night out and help others in our community.

The committee would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make The Holiday Gift and More event such a success.   To the set up and take down team, the kitchen volunteers, the women who helped with the baked goods and knitting, the volunteers manning the various tables, thank you.  Your efforts were greatly appreciated.   Also, a big thank you to the congregation for showing your support for this event.  This event earned over $1,500 for Time and Talent Benevolence Fund, which will in turn help those in our community. The afghan, which was knitted by Louise Sis and raffled at the event, was won by Jan Jackson. Thanks again…Deb Davis and Cathy Wedemeyer (Event co-chairs).

Books! Books! Books! Bring a book! Buy a book! The ongoing book sale for the Time & Talent Benevolence fundraiser is on the table by the kitchen.

“Hello Gorgeous” is a very nice consignment shop at 3730 Market Street in Camp Hill. Christ Presbyterian Church has an account there where you can donate women’s and children’s clothing (in sellable condition), household items, home decor items, shoes, purses and jewelry and the proceeds will benefit the Time and Talent Benevolence Fund. For more information check their website; hellogorgeousconsignments.com. Thank you!

The Count is In!! We have added $145.49 from the Hoss’s fundraiser to the Time & Talent Benevolence Fund for Sonshine Ministries, Downtown Daily Bread and Christian Churches United! A huge thank you to everyone who participated!!

The Great Romance concert held on June 16th was a wonderful event and enjoyed by all in attendance. This popular Christian rock group provided an evening of upbeat, sacred music and also enjoyed meeting with both old and new fans after the concert. Thank you to all who assisted with the set up, concert activities, clean up and the Zimmerman family for hosting the group after the concert.
