Youth News

Hello!  Believe it or not, it is almost time for youth group to start.  The following is important information for you to be aware of regarding youth group this year.

Youth group activities are for youth in grades six through twelve.

If you are on the mailing list and would prefer to receive youth group information through email, please let me know at: jwd715@verizon.net .

It is important that you RSVP before an event if you are planning to attend.  This helps to better plan the event.

Events are held on Sundays, unless noted otherwise.

Prior to each event, details will be sent via mail/email.  ALWAYS go by what you receive through mail/email because that will have any changes made to the original calendar.  Sometimes information in the Connections Newsletter will not have the most up-to-date information.

Montreat

Pine Street Presbyterian Church has invited CPC youth to join them on their 2009 trip to Montreat.

Who is eligible? High school youth entering ninth grade through graduated seniors.

What is the cost?  Last year the cost was approximately $450 per person.  This cost included the conference ($224 per person), housing, food, and transportation.

When is the trip?  Sunday, July 12th through Saturday, July 18th, 2009.

Additional information:

There are limited spots available.  The house that has been secured sleeps twelve people.  Two of those people will be adults from Pine Street (I will not be attending).  That leaves ten spots remaining for youth from both churches.

If you sign-up to go, you are expected to participate in all fundraising efforts held by Pine Street and CPC.

If you are interested in going to Montreat, please let me know by Sunday, September 28th.  You will need to make a definite commitment by December.  It is important to get an initial idea of who might be interested in going so that it can be communicated to Pine Street Presbyterian Church.

You can visit the following website for more information: http://www.montreat.org/current/2009-youth-conferences-at-montreat

You can also speak with Teresa Folk, who has gone to Montreat in the past with Pine Street.
